VANGELIC- AN EPIC TRIBUTE
When a musician or a composer hears that another great has departed, we may reach for their record to listen to the songs and reminisce. Or we may pull up to our instrument and play the pieces they left behind. But when an icon, whose brilliance influenced so many, leaves us, the blues does not stem easily. Because “like tears in rain” we come and go but the legends… well, they remain. But instead of lament, we sometimes find desire and inspiration to honour the genius.
This sentiment struck a chord with four veterans of electronic scene, who despite living and working in different corners of the world, decided to create a joint tribute to express how the legendary composer impacted their own music journeys. Sparked by magic that lives on, they simply called their musical landscape – VANGELIC. Composed and recorded this spring in Zagreb, Belgrade, Prague and London, this truly epic tribute features over an hour of breath-taking music which effortlessly traverses electronic genres.
